Matt Murphy and Todd McCollum Win Saturday at Ace
[02-19-12] The Carolina Competition Sports (CCS) Winter Races took place Saturday, February 18th, at Ace Speedway (NC). Matt Murphy (Bandit) won the combined-division Bandolero race over Kodie Conner (Bandit), Grant Shadduck (Outlaw), Ceasar Miquel Jr (Outlaw), Sprout Royal (Bandit), Alex McCollum (Bandit), Kade Lambert (Bandit) and Carson Hudson (Outlaw). Todd McCollum (Pro) won the combined-division Legends race over Erik Nash (Semi-Pro), Justin Mitchell (Young Lions), Zack Skolnick (Semi-Pro), Tate Fogleman (Young Lions), Walker Yates (Young Lions), Tanner Cornwell (Young Lions), Austin Osborne (Young Lions), Jeffrey Stanton (Young Lions) and Matt Linker (Semi-Pro).
Darrell "Bubba" Wallace Jr Wins Saturday's 50-Lap Event at Auburndale Speedway
[02-19-12] As a tune-up for the Winter Nationals events, Auburndale Speedway (FL) held a 50-lap combined-division Legends Car race on Saturday, February 18th. The "Legend 50 Lap Winter Special" kicked off at night with Austin Hill leading early. Dennis Lambert spent time up front as well before Darrell "Bubba" Wallace Jr worked his way around lapped traffic and Lambert for the lead, winning the 50-lap race. Lambert and Hill finished second and third, followed by Sean Rayhall, Kory Abbott, Taylor Hull, Kyle Beattie, Andy Hogan, Dakota Baggette, Matt Pappa, Payton Ryan, Dave Garbo Jr, Anthony Cataldi, Brayton Haws, Jordan Black, Reid Wilson, Gary Bursey, Drew Higginson, Conner Pyle, Paul Blackhorn, Kevin Henry, Torstein Larsen, Chris Lemonds, Dylan Blackhorn and Wendell Napper. LN was on hand for the event and will have a full race video and interview with Wallace posted within the coming days.
CG Photography Captures Your Winter Nationals With Motorsports Portrait Prints
[02-17-12] Chuck Green and Cg Photography, the Official Photographer at Auburndale Speedway (FL), will be offering Motorsports Portrait Prints at the 2012 Winter Nationals, which takes place February 19th – 24th. The professional poster-sized print is 13 x 19 inches in size, framed, and ready for the wall. The official Winter Nationals logo will also be on the print, memorializing the photo and event. Bonus Florida Coverage: LN at Auburndale Speedway Feb. 18th
[02-16-12] Prior to the official start of the 2012 Winter Nationals at Auburndale Speedway (FL) Sunday - Friday, February 19th - 24th, the track will hold a special Legends Car race on Saturday, February 18th. The "Legend 50 Lap Winter Special" will be a part of Saturday's race program, and LegendsNation.com will be there with photo and video coverage of the race. Timmy Hill Racing NASCAR Sprint Cup Series in 2012
[02-15-12] Timmy Hill, who earned the 2011 NASCAR Nationwide Series Rookie of the Year honors and spent time racing his Legends Car at Charlotte Motor Speedway (NC) during the off season, has announced he will race in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series in 2012 for Rick Ware Racing, going for the Rookie of the Year honors. Legend Car Racing at Daytona International Speedway in 2013?
[02-15-12] Various news media websites like Speed51.com and the News-Journal are reporting that Daytona International Speedway (FL) will announce Friday they are adding a 4/10th-mile oval on the property that will be used during Speedweeks 2013 on Monday and Tuesday, days when the track is considered "dark" from racing action. According to sources, the night races will possibly feature Late Models and Modifieds, even though it conflicts with the World Series of Asphalt Racing dates usually scheduled during that time at New Smyrna Speedway (FL). While it isn't clear what all divisions will race, Legend Cars can and have raced on 4/10th-mile ovals. LegendsNation.com has reached out to the DIS PR department for comment on whether Legends would be also part of the program, or if they would race on the track at other times during the 2013 year. Those dates also conflict with the Legends and Bandolero Winter Nationals events. Once more is known, it will be posted here on LN.
Josh Williams Ready for ARCA Daytona Debut
[02-15-12] Legends Car and ARCA driver Josh Williams is currently in Florida, ready to make his debut racing at the Daytona International Speedway (FL). Williams will race in the ARCA Racing Series this season, starting at Daytona. He recently was at Charlotte Motor Speedway (NC) during the Winter Heat Series helping Tyler Audie. Canadian Ryan Mackintosh Heading to Florida for Winter Nats
[02-15-12] Legends Semi-Pro driver Ryan Mackintosh will be heading south to Florida to race in the Winter Nationals at Auburndale Speedway (FL) this coming week. A team rep told LN the Canadian racer, who has three Legends starts after moving up from Bandoleros, will be making the trip with Chris Woods Racing. CWR is also fielding two entries in the Bandolero Outlaws division in Florida for Canadian drivers Cole Boudreau and Cole Tanner.
