CG Photography Captures Your Winter Nationals With Motorsports Portrait Prints
[02-17-12] Chuck Green and Cg Photography, the Official Photographer at Auburndale Speedway (FL), will be offering Motorsports Portrait Prints at the 2012 Winter Nationals, which takes place February 19th – 24th. The professional poster-sized print is 13 x 19 inches in size, framed, and ready for the wall. The official Winter Nationals logo will also be on the print, memorializing the photo and event. [02-16-12] Prior to the official start of the 2012 Winter Nationals at Auburndale Speedway (FL) Sunday - Friday, February 19th - 24th, the track will hold a special Legends Car race on Saturday, February 18th. Timmy Hill Racing NASCAR Sprint Cup Series in 2012
[02-15-12] Timmy Hill, who earned the 2011 NASCAR Nationwide Series Rookie of the Year honors and spent time racing his Legends Car at Charlotte Motor Speedway (NC) during the off season, has announced he will race in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series in 2012 for Rick Ware Racing, going for the Rookie of the Year honors. Legend Car Racing at Daytona International Speedway in 2013?
[02-15-12] Various news media websites like Speed51.com and the News-Journal are reporting that Daytona International Speedway (FL) will announce Friday they are adding a 4/10th-mile oval on the property that will be used during Speedweeks 2013 on Monday and Tuesday, days when the track is considered "dark" from racing action. According to sources, the night races will possibly feature Late Models and Modifieds, even though it conflicts with the World Series of Asphalt Racing dates usually scheduled during that time at New Smyrna Speedway (FL). While it isn't clear what all divisions will race, Legend Cars can and have raced on 4/10th-mile ovals. LegendsNation.com has reached out to the DIS PR department for comment on whether Legends would be also part of the program, or if they would race on the track at other times during the 2013 year. Those dates also conflict with the Legends and Bandolero Winter Nationals events. Once more is known, it will be posted here on LN.

Canadian Ryan Mackintosh Heading to Florida for Winter Nats
[02-15-12] Legends Semi-Pro driver Ryan Mackintosh will be heading south to Florida to race in the Winter Nationals at Auburndale Speedway (FL) this coming week. A team rep told LN the Canadian racer, who has three Legends starts after moving up from Bandoleros, will be making the trip with Chris Woods Racing. CWR is also fielding two entries in the Bandolero Outlaws division in Florida for Canadian drivers Cole Boudreau and Cole Tanner.

Previous Winners Daniel Hemric and Kyle Plott Filing Entries for the Legends Big Money 100 in July
[02-14-12] Shortly after the announcement that the Legends Big Money 100 at Charlotte Motor Speedway (NC) will be scheduled for July 1st - 3rd, 2012, LegendsNation.com confirmed two drivers that will be filing entries into the event. The inaugural event in 2010, which was called the Legends Million, was won by Daniel Hemric. Hemric told LN Tuesday afternoon he will be entering the event now that the dates do not conflict with his Modified schedule. Also, in 2011, Kyle Plott won the renamed Legends Big Money 100. LN spoke to his father Alan shortly after the announcement, and he confirmed Kyle will be back to defend his win.

Legends Big Money Moved to July 1st - 3rd?
[02-14-12] On Tuesday, February 14th, the Charlotte Motor Speedway (NC) website is now listing the Legends Big Money 100 event as Sunday - Tuesday, July 1st - 3rd, instead of the original announced dates in April. LegendsNation.com isn't aware of what this means for the Summer Shootout event scheduled for Tuesday of that week, but will post more information once it is known. EDITOR'S NOTE: LN spoke to a CMS rep just before 4:30pm. A full release is expected later today. It was confirmed that the Big Money 100 will replace the Summer Shootout events that week, and the Shootout will resume the following week with the series end date changing from August 14th to August 21st, keeping the Shootout a 10-event series with the break during the July 1st - 3rd week for the Big Money 100.

Myatt Snider Racing Winter Nationals and Thursday Thunder with Doug Stevens
[02-13-12] Fresh off his two Legends Semi-Pro wins at Charlotte Motor Speedway (NC) during the final two rounds of Winter Heat Series racing, North Carolina racer Myatt Snider will head to Auburndale Speedway (FL) to race in the Winter Nationals events, February 20th – 24th. Marty Snider, father of Myatt, told LN on Monday Myatt will drive a Doug Stevens car for the week-long event as well as racing with Stevens during the summer in Atlanta Motor Speedway’s Thursday Thunder Series. Myatt is still associated with TyMark Motorsports, and is racing with Stevens for the out-of-state races since TyMark will not be making the trip to Florida and Georgia.
Bronson Speedway Holding Friday Race on February 17th
[02-13-12] Legends and Bandoleros are on the schedule Friday, February 17th, at Bronson Speedway (FL) for their inaugural Speedweekend. The track is hoping drivers heading to Auburndale Speedway (FL) will stop by for some racing action on their high banks. Overnight parking is available. Irwindale Speedway in Cali Closing? Where to Race in SoCal?
[02-13-12] Many reports have hit the news wires over the weekend stating that Irwindale Speedway in California has closed. According to the Daily News, some grandstands have been dismantled as well as storage areas. The other track in the area, Orange Show Speedway, announced last year they were going dark in 2012. This means that many Southern California drivers will have to make the trip to Las Vegas Motor Speedway (NV) to race their Legends and Bandolero cars. Video: Justin Thomas' Roof Cam During Horrific Wreck at AMS
[02-12-12] Justin Thomas had a video cam on his car during his horrible wreck Saturday, February, 11th, when he flipped over the Atlanta Motor Speedway (GA) pit wall during the Winter Flurry Series Legends Semi-Pro feature, hitting a light pole, totaling his race car. He was OK after this wild ride. The impact of the wreck ripped the entire roof body off the car, sending it back onto the track while his roll cage and the rest of his car was on the other side of pit wall. The camera stayed attached to the roof body, not the car, when the wreck occured. Watch the video by clicking here. The start of the race is at the seven-minute mark with the wreck happening off turn two on the opening lap.
